As we approach the end of 2024, we are excited to share the progress made by the Neurodiverse Safe Work Initiative this year and give you a glimpse of our plans for 2025.

Social Enterprise Milestone

We are proud to announce that the Neurodiverse Safe Work Initiative has been officially recognised as a People and Planet First Verified Social Enterprise by the Queensland Social Enterprise Council. We have also joined the Good Market Global community, reinforcing our commitment to creating inclusive and equitable workplaces.

This recognition strengthens our mission to support employers with practical education, resources, and tools to develop healthy, safe, and inclusive environments for neurodiverse talent. By being part of these respected networks, we can enhance our impact, foster stronger partnerships, and reinvest our profits into creating sustainable, long-term change in the workplace.

Honoured Finalist - Moreton Bay Region Innovation and Tourism Awards

We are pleased to have been nominated as a Finalist in the Epic Assist category at the Moreton Bay Region Innovation and Tourism 2024 Awards. This recognition highlights our innovative approach to building neuroinclusive workplaces and reflects the growing awareness of the importance of neurodiversity across Australia.
Our inclusion in this awards program is a valuable acknowledgment of our efforts and motivates us to continue expanding our services, providing employers with the training, resources, and support needed to create inclusive environments for all.

2024 Business Growth and Client Impact

This year, we experienced a 150% increase in corporate and public speaking engagements, indicating a growing interest among Australian businesses in neurodiversity awareness training.

One of our key resources, the Neurodiverse Safe Work Self-Assessment Checklist (or the “mini gap analysis) has been accessed by over 2,000 workplaces across Australia.

Here’s what one client shared –

“After completing the course, I used the Gap Analysis and presented it to our leadership team. To my surprise, they accepted all my recommendations! Now, I’m leading a project to overhaul our recruitment and onboarding processes and implement neurodiversity training for all staff in the coming year.”  (Jim, HR Manager)

Additionally, 50 individuals participated in a Neurodiversity Coaching Program, using the Neurodiversity Workplace Profiler. Feedback from participants highlighted the value of the tool:

  • 80% said it gave them greater clarity and insight.
  • 80% reported improved self-awareness and positive mindset changes.
  • 73% noted that it helped them develop performance strategies.

Client Stories - Partnerships in Action

We had the privilege of partnering with several outstanding organisations this year, including Inclusee Ltd. and Light for the World.
Inclusee’s CEO, Rachel Cook, and Strategic Partnerships Manager, Tatia Power, integrated the Neurodiversity Workplace Profiler and Coaching into their 2024 Neurodiversity Inclusion Program which was accessed by 50% of their workforce. In a LinkedIn Interview with Rachel and Tatia which you can watch here, Rachel was enthusiastic about the impact this had on their business:
“The Neurodiversity Workplace Profiler has been transformative for us. It facilitated meaningful conversations about strengths and challenges, creating a better understanding of our diverse workforce.”

and…

“My advice is simple: just do it. You have everything to gain from investing in neurodiversity. It improves organizational culture, productivity, and understanding. There’s nothing to lose.”

Light for the World

We collaborated with Light for the World’s Kenya office to provide some training and support in the onboarding of a non-verbal autistic employee into their data management team, working closely with the team and the employee’s support worker to ensure a smooth transition. Their Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisor shared:
“Simon is settling in wonderfully and has impressed the team with his skills. We’re taking it slow, but he’s already challenging us to give him more responsibilities, which is a great sign.”

(Iram Bahawal-Suleiman, DEI Advisor, Light for the World Kenya)
